Retro Horror
A downloadable Horror Game for Windows
Retro Horror is a horror video game that maintains several of the Game Boy's limitations. We are Tom, a young man who, overwhelmed by the city, decides to enjoy his weekend hiking, but without expecting that something terrible is going to happen on his route.
This project has started as additional content to a book I'm writing about fear as a tool for making videogames. I will update this project as the book progresses by offering a complete and free version of this project.
- Nostalgic aesthetics that will bring you back to your old Game Boy.
- Change the color palette to enjoy the horror even more. Change the palette from the Settings menu
- An original story influenced by Silent Hill.
- Original music, with Tony Ponce (@jesusmp787) creating a soundtrack as if to play it on Game Boy.
- Make choices and solve puzzles to continue the story
- Play it in Spanish or English, change the language from the Settings menu
Retro Horror supports the use of a Gamepad while playing, so you can play with a keyboard or controller according to your preferences.
- Move in Game and Menu: Directional Arrows/Left Joystick.
- Interact in Game and Menu: Space/A Button
- Cancel in Game/ Back in Menu: Q Key/B Button
- Open Inventory: E Key/Menu Button (Start)
